Brief Answer:
It could be DVT. Please get Doppler done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Thanks for your question.
Since when is the swelling?
Is there any redness?
Have you had any ill health recently or any long air travel?
It could be Deep Vein Thrombosis(DVT).
This would mean clotting in the veins of the leg.
please get a Color Doppler test done.
This is the only investigation to confirm the above.
There is no need to worry. It is very much treatable.
Take care n let me know the report so that I can guide you further.
And dont walk around much or indulge in strenuous exercises.

Brief Answer:
It could be due to the DVT

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for your reply.
What was this chest condition that you mention.
Was there any breathing difficulty or cough?
Was an XRay or ECG done?
What did the Physician say?
it is quite possible that the DVT in the leg would have started at that time and part of the clot could have broken and gone to the lung leading to a condition called PTE or Pulmonary thromboembolism. please get the Doppler done at the earliest and do let me know.
Take care and I will wait for your reply.

Brief Answer:
Nothing is reversed. DVT can go umdetected initial days

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the answer.
PE does not come before DVT.
And thats what I told you that you could have had DVT before the chest condition if you read my comments properly.
DVT can happen before the person can recognize its presence.
And PE can happen without shortness of breath. There are 3 types of PE
Peripheral PE does not manifest such symptoms.
Doppler is essential as per my Medical knowledge.
Rest I believe you are knowledgeable enough.

Brief Answer:
Very relieved. What does it say about valve competence.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for the reply.
It is very heartening to know that there are no clots in the leg veins.
The only other thing to know would be whether the valves are functional or not. Valve incompetence can lead to CVI and therefore swelling.
Another cause for limb swelling would be Lymphatic swelling. But these would usually go away over a few weeks with wearing compression stockings and you could take Tab Daflon 500mg twice a day for 2 to 3 months.
It is good to know it is nothing serious.
Take care n do let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Regards,
Dr Rishi.

Brief Answer:
Daflon will help decrease swelling

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Thanks for your reply.
Daflon will help improve the function of veins and lymphatics. This will help decrease the limb swelling.
The decrease in blood count is unlikely to be due to this. This should not lead to decrease in Hemoglobin. For this, you can start Hematinic tablets like Capsule Autrin.
Take care.

I am noticing purple spider vein(?) on the skin of my lower left abdomen region. What could they be?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Rishi (24 hours later)
Brief Answer:
They are fairly normal. Do not worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Thanks.
The veins in your lower abdomen are a continuation of the same process of venous dilatation. Spider veins however, do not lead to any problems and dont usually lead to pain. You need not worry about them. There is nothing to fear in them.
Try to have Daflon for 3 months and they should also get controlled. In females these changes happpen more frequently due to the hormonal changes and differences in blood levels of Progesterone and Estrogen.
Do not worry.
Take care and do let me know if I can be of further help.
