Brief Answer:
there are some options for sinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

there are other options for acute sinusitis (if that's what you're taking it; I've had a look at your other question) but I can't suggest alternatives without knowing your medical history. Your doctor should do that.

The alternatives include:
For serious allergic reaction to penicillin:
- quinolones: levofloxacin or moxifloxacin mostly
- doxycycline

For a mild reaction to penicillin (a skin rash only that is) cefuroxime can also be used.

None of the aforementioned antibiotics nor clindamycin has any contraindication for patients with diverticula. All antibiotics may affect the intestinal flora and cause diarrhea.

You should talk with your doctor for the alternatives. Do not try anything without your doctor's approval. Only the doctor who knows your medical history can take such a decision!

Kind Regards!
