Brief Answer:
It depends on the severity of the infection.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

Well see it requires personal examination to decide whether your infection can be treated with only oral antibiotics or any dressing with cleaning of wound or any drainage of pus is required .

Hence I would recommend you to consult your doctor and let him decide what needs to be done.

In my practise I prescribe Augmentin duo for my patients but if the infection is severe I prescribe Linezolid. Also I do a test called Pus culture sensitivity if there is any pus in the wound and I recommend the same to you.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.

Regards.
