                                            Question : Hi please help!
My husband has a rash on both of his forearms that has been there for a few weeks now. I thought it was dry skin ar first but it definitely looks like something else ans has been getting worse. He says the redness gets worse in the heat and water (so basically when he showers). Its also a little itchy. He had a small spot once by his forearm that was apparently ringworm so he used antifungal cream to get rid of it. He tjought this was ringwarm but bigger this time so hes been using the cream and also Tinactin. Its not going away. Can someone tell us what this is?

                                    Brief Answer:
Xerosis with dermatitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.
I have taken note of your query and i have also reviewed images.
I suggest a possibility of Xerosis/ dryness of skin with dermatitis.
This is not fungal infection.
I suggest him to use a moisturizing cream over the affected area preferably after mixing it with a small amount of topical steroid e.g triamcinolone acetonide Or betamethasone valerate would be good enough.
Topical steroids are anti-inflammatory and would take care of the dermatitis.
An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily in evening will provide him symptomatic relief from itching.
Regards
