Question : I have diverticulous I have gas and bloating that is only relived by passing gas of massive bleching . I take bental and charcoal pill and phazme. Is there any other scripts that I can take it been going on for over 2 weeks

I called my Pharmacy they know nothing about this drug nor is it in their system where they look drugs. Is this drug new and expensive. I wonder if my insurance will cover it?? Also I take a over the counter probiontic . My intestines are making a lot of noise will this drug calm it down? If I take this drug or some other you recommend do I need to stop the phazyme or the benytal or both? Also what kind of diet should I stick to? My main concern is after almost 3 weeks of this is getting my GI and intestinal track calm down and I don't dirrera at this time

Rifaximin is indeed available in the united states but there is no generic version available and you will find it under the trade name Xifaxan. It is expensive and costs around 20 dollars per dose. In case you take this drug you dont need to discontinue Phazyme or benytal and you can also continue your probiotic.

In case your symptoms persist after this course, you will need a colonoscopy.
