Brief Answer:
It happens sometimes

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

this is something that may happen. Cough is the last symptom to resolve. This is particularly so in individuals with a history of chronic lung conditions like asthma. The cough may take even one to two months to resolve.
If you have no fever and you feel better every day, please be assured that your cough will bet better over time. If it is still troublesome and non-productive then you can take cough depressants. If it is productive then mucolytic agents will probably be useful. If you have wheezes then medications for asthma might be of help. I can't give such an advice without auscultation data.
Concerns might be raised if fever relapses or other symptoms appear. Otherwise time will heal the cough.
I hope you situation is more clear now!
If you have further questions, please ask and I'll be glad to answer.

Kind Regards!
