Question: Yes, Thank you...
I desire to acquire long and short acting penicillin prescription. (Injectable)
I have had Restasin (sp?) and it does not work for me.
My body does not absorb well so injection matters.

Brief Answer:
Inj Augmentin 1.2 is the needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam,
I have carefully read your query and understand your concern.

The standard injectable penicillin therapy for bilateral pneumonia involves using long acting penicillins.

These drugs have excellent activity against pneumonia causing organism particularly bilateral lobar pneumonia.

The standard prescription is:

Inj.Augmentin 1.2g intravenous/i.v. every 8 th hourly for 5-7 days.
In more severe infection it can be given every 6th hourly for 7-10 days.

Each vial of above provides potassium clavulanate equivalent to 200 mg of clavulanic acid with amoxicillin sodium equivalent to 1 gm.

For reconstitution the drug can be given as intravenous or infusion.

Note:1.The dose should be given by slow i.v route over 3-4 min within 20 min of its reconstitution with 20 ml of sterile water.
2.This drug should be taken by individuals having penicillin allergy.
3.This drug should be taken only under strict medical supervision.

I hope this info is helpful to you,
