Question : Hi, my son is 5.5 months old. we are planning to start giving solid to him. our doc has advised us to give mashed potatoes, banans, biscuit soaked in milk, rotis soaked in lentils etc. he has also advised that we give solids twice a day - sweet at one time and salty at the other. he has also advised in favour of cerelac. but i am a little wary... as i feel natural things are better. whats your opinion on that sir....... Also kindly advise what all solid i can offer him....egg?..and what quantity. should salty/ sweet things be introduced....vegetables?
thanks.
thanks.
Brief Answer:
You are right, please reconsider Cerelac if possible,
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
Yes i do agree with you.
Natural things are better.
All the opinion given by your doctor is okay except cerelac.
Cerelac is for working women who does not have time to prepare fresh food at home.
You should try home made food like daal water, vegetables soup, raagi, upma, shira in semisolid form.
Salty and sweet things should be in limit.
Egg sholud be offered at around 8 month of age.
Hope i helped you.
