Suggest Natural Remedies For ADHD

Question : Hi Doctor, My 20 years old son was diagnosed with ADHD by counselor/psychiatrist last year. He was given Ritalin due to poor concentration in his college applications but nothing else. He does not need to take Ritalin everyday but only when he needs to study. He may have depression or substance abuse. Can you advice on any other medication or natural remedy for ADHD? Thank you.

Ritalin is the gold standard treatment for ADHD. No other medication or supplement has achieved the results Ritalin has in independent large scale randomized controlled trials. This is an excellent medication choice and will certainly help him with homework. It is difficult to abuse due to careful oversight and prescription regulation by the DEA. Further, Ritalin may have antidepressant properties. His doctor made a good choice.
