Question: Hi,
I was experiencing some abdominal pain similar but not as sever as when I had acute pancreatitis 10 years ago. I went to my doctor and my blood work showed that my amylase level was 195 and my lipase level was 449. I've stopped all alcohol intake but was wondering if there is any way that I can naturally reduce my levels.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

You are reporting to have high levels of lipase and amylase.
These two findings indicate riacutisation of pancreatitis.

With regard to your symptoms, they are typical for mild pancreatitis. Your exams are typical too.

Diet is really important in your case:
- avoid alcohol
- quite smoking
- avoid fatty foods

It is too important to take creon.

You should perform an abdominal ultrasound to rule out other causes of your pancreatitis.

Hope I have answered your query.
