Question: Hi doctor,

My girlfriend will have a knee CARTILAGE MENISCUS IMPLANT tomorrow, she made the ACL before so she will do the implant tomorrow.

Doctor said she will wear a brace and be using crutches for 6 weeks and her foot cant touch the ground.

Question : read a lot about the surgery but found nothing about the PAIN after surgery. Day one, two, three and the rest.

will there be pain, if so how painful acute, moderate or severe?
If there will be then how long will she face the pain and when will she be painless?

Please reply

Brief Answer:
Moderate pain is there for 2-3 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
After the surgery usually the pain decreases after 48 hours. There can be some pain - moderate intensity for first 2-3 days. The pain will then gradually subside. It is asked to avoid weight bearing on the foot to avoid the pressure of body weight on the healing cartilage. The cartilage will heal early and best if proper rest is provided to the knee joint.
I hope this answers your query.
