Question: Have been dealing with supsected autoimmune issues for almost two years, suspected trigger when I had impetigo. Constant non vertigo dizzy/whoozy my neuro thinks acephalgic migraines, I do have regular migraines which run in family. In two years has not stopped! Pamelor helped a little as well as taking B2. Am B6, D3 difficient, am taking supplement. Have sicca, non bleeding gave disease, thyroid nodules and slight goiter, non blushing rosacea, blurry vision, muffled hearin, alledonyia all over, mouth and nose ulcers, connective tissue problems, joint pain, copd, vain1 positive, hsv 1&2 positive but never had symptoms, chronic rhinitis, muscle fatigue, brain fog, raynauds, livido reticulares, RLS, IBS since three month old, positive shirmer and XXXXXXX bengal. Dr originally dx sjogren's but reversed it when lip biopsy came negative. Started with positive ana and ss-b which turned negative. Blood tests to the moon and back all negative, xrays negative, mri of brain, c spine normal. Got dx fms and seronegative ra. Humira got rid of joint pain, also take 8 pills mtx a week, cevimeline, restasis, lyrica. My blood tests say I'm a-ok, my body tells different story. Steroids have always helped during flares, but Dr doesn't want to prescribe anymore because of bones and I agree. Took me off plaquenil saying no need if I don't have sjs. Dr. suspect behcet's as well since my daughter has it. I only have mouth and nose sores and purpura. Gyno said the vaginal sores I get is folliculitis after seeng them. No eye inflammation, just meibomian gland disease, blepharitis and dry eyes. Guess my question is: is there a possible common cause for all my medical issues and what is my body trying to tell me diagnosis wise that my blood is not telling? A guideline of possible diagnosis would help in what direction to look and what blood tests to try to find answers.
Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Overlap syndrome

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern since your condition has so many symptoms. Regarding to your symptoms, your body is fighting against himself, so you are having autoimmune disease. Since you mentioned ulcers in your mouth, it would be good to test yourself on lupus, with lupus anticoagulant. Nowadays, in cases like yours, in which lot of symptoms suggest a lot of diseases with the same autoimmune origin, the Rheumatology society named a new condition called overlap syndrome. In your case, you have symptons of polyarthritis, lupus, sjogren, thyroid problems... In some cases it is impossible to name only one diagnose because of variety of symptoms.
Like in all other autoimmune diseases it is important to keep the disease calm with immunosupressivevdrugs, for example methotrexate.
I hope I helped you with this query and my suggestion is to visit your doctor and discuss with him this possibility.

Thank you very much! Lupus and scl tests were negative as well. Thankfully I am on methotrexate and the Humira knocked out the joint issues. Been having a lot of muscle? pain around chest and back. Muscles in mostly my calves are constantly moving and twisting. Thank you very much for your time, I will certainly bring it up with my rheumatologist!
Thank you!!
Muscle enzyme, emg normal as well
