Question : I got tagged by a wasp on the back of my hand yesterday morning. The stinger does not seem to have remained in the wound. I've been icing the area and using an anti-itch cream. It's swollen and itches like the devil. Could my local urgent care facility do something more to help, or should I just keep doing what I've been doing and ride it out?
Brief Answer:
Take steroid injection
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
You need treatment with injectable steroid and antihistamine.
Go to emergency/urgent care and take injection hydrocortisone 100 mg iv and injection pheniramine iv single dose.
Keep applying ice to the affected area.
This should help you.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
