Question: My lower colon has Been cramping for five days. No diahrhea and no constipation. I do have IBS but it's never acted like this before. The cramps start out mild and grow like labor pains. What is wrong ?

Brief Answer:
Uterine or large intestine can be causing this.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such symptoms can indicate large intestine issues or uterine issues. Please note that uterine is very close to the rectum. So its inflammation or cancer can give symptoms present in the rectum.
Large intestine issues including inflammation and tumor can also act like that. No diarrhea or constipation is necessary. You may have simply bloating with it.

I suggest you to consult your doctor. Colonoscopy and transvaginal ultrasound (performed by a gynecologist) should be done at first.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
