Question : My three year old great granddaughter may have eaten my 100mcg tab of levothyroxine. My last pill was missing from my bottle but I did not see her with the bottle so I am not sure. Will one pill harm her? She weighs 27+ pounds.
Brief Answer:
100 mcg tab for this age is not overdose, nothing to worry much
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for asking on this platform
I won't get overly worried as the toxic dose of levothyroxin is very high and 100 mcg tablet usually does not causes any abnormal symptoms.
Still I would suggest you to watch for signs of overdose like nervousness, irritability, increased heart rate, sweating, trembling or loose stool.
Symptoms usually appear within 6-12 hours of consumption.
If you notice any please consult your physician.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more queries.
