problem might be due to O.A. of spines and low calcium and vitamin D3
Detailed Answer:
Hi, XXXX,
Thanks for posting query to HCM.
As your problem of having pain and stiffness of back muscles could be due to lifting of weight producing shoulder and back pain. There is a possibility of pinched nerve pressure and spasm of shoulder and back muscles leading to your distress. Further , there are chances of degenerative changes in your vertebrae and shoulder joints due to spine osteo-arthritis and peri-arthritis of shoulder joints. This pain might aggravated due to some calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency at this age in menopause as well.
So, according to my opinion you might require,
1, x-ray spines, cervical and lumbar spines,
2, blood calcium level,
3, Vitamin D3 level.
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
After proper diagnosis, physiotherapy, short way diathermy and if require traction will give you much relief.
Take calcium, vitamin D supplement daily.
Meanwhile taking some over the counter pain medicine like advil would relieve you from pain and spasm.
I hope, I answered your query.
If you have further query or clarification, please write back.
Wishing you speedy recovery.
From,
Dr, Ramesh Vachharajani, MBBS, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
