Brief Answer:
a Dental check up is necessary..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

First of all, your query itself has the answer, i.e. Dental cavities and plaques, which is one of the most common cause for this..when untreated for prolonged duration, they attract food particles and bacterial growth thus causing all those bad breath..

Start doing brushing twice daily i.e. morning and night (before bed time)..

Use Chlorhexidine mouth wash twice daily, don't eat/drink anything for next 20-30 min after using it..

Have lot of water..stay well hydrated..chew cloves/green cardamom after foods..

Avoid smoking (if you do)..also avoid over-sweetened deserts and fizzy cold drinks..

Along with these, please schedule a Dental check-up with a Dentist for detailed examination of the teeth and gum, also to decide about requirement of dental-filling procedures for this..

Take Care
Kind Regards
