Question: I have had a cold/flu and have noticed a few droplets of blood in my urine and my son is now in the hospital with droplets of blood in his urine. We have spent the holiday together, is this connected?

Brief Answer:
Very unlikley that they are connected!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There are no known causes of blood in urine that can be transmitted from one person to another. I will say this is pure coincidence and not really connected. Most common causes are kidney stones, infections and side effects of blood thinners. I will suggest that you monitor your urine to see whether this persists or not. If it does, then get the urine analyzed in a laboratory. This will be guiding enough for us to make further decisions based on this.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
