Vitamin D correction and oral calcium under the prescription of your Doctor
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history and the detailed reports.
To recapitulate: Male/76 - body ache and headache -for 1 week - no improvement on Dolo 650 and Vasograin - sclerotherapy for internal piles - 1 week ago > stress -
Seen all your reports -
Iron - increased
Calcium a bit reduced
Vitamin D - Deficiency - hence the calcium problem.
Lipid profile problems - can be corrected by a bit diet control and exercises as can be done at your age.
Glucose - just elevated and not to worry - repeat once.
Hemoglobin a bit less with attendant changes. Add folvite only. Your Iron is more than normal in blood test.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Continue Dolo and Vasograin whenever required, as less dose as possible.
To get a prescription for Vitamin D in therapeutic dosage and calcium, I am hopeful that this may help reverse all your problems.
- Clinical evaluation by a Doctor is very important as there may be detailed history taking and most importantly actual clinical examination helps in better diagnosis.

For supplementing calcium he advised me to take adequate greeny vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower etc.I would like to know your expert opinion on this line of treatment,

Have a few loading doses as discussed below.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your appreciation.
It is good that your have been prescribed Vit D3 1000 IU daily for 2 months.
In view of the severe deficiency that the lab report is showing < 4.2 it may be wise to have one or few loading dosages of Sachets or capsules containing 60,000 IU. and to maintain as advised by your Doctor.
Please repeat the tests after 15 days and see if there is improvement and how much extra of Vit D is needed.
Continue the rest of the treatment as advised.
..
I hope this answer helps you.
