Question : I think I broke my left pinky toe (250 lb calf stepped on it.) It immediately turned purple and black and red. Very painful to move but it also itches. Swollen and crooked. It looks to be broken at the bottom joint where it flexes into the foot. Top of foot is also bruised. I am 57 years old and a diabetic. What should I do?
Brief Answer:
Needs proper reduction and cast.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached photo. The pinky toe looks broken and displaced. This needs an X-ray to find out how much displaced it is. Proper reduction and immobilization is needed for it to heal properly and to regain the joint movement. Do consult an orthopedician for proper treatment.
I hope this answers your query.
