Question: I am due to fly to USA on Wednesday . In XXXXXXX I had bilateral varicose vein occlusion , and have had no problems since . Clear Doppler results and a little bruising . I walk and exercise regularly but the last two days I have had pain in both calves and ankles. I know the pulse in the foot is weak. I intend walking in the national parks in the USA

Brief Answer:
Needs work up and management

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

i read your question and i understand your concern. With bilateral varicose veins, travelling that long duration from australia to USA is itself a questionable act and needs to be approved by your doctor first. With this recent increase in pain i would like you to have a repeated doppler in limbs and consider correction surgery of varicose veins. If the travelling is dire necessary some precautionary measures may be used like pressure stockings, frequent limb mobilisation in the plane etc. Walking the national park in USA is not enough here. You need to let your doctor decide what is best here. If they forbid traveling avoid it.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
