Suggest Remedies For Burning Sensation While Urinating
Question: i am having a burning sensation when i uriate i am a 59 year old male the burning lasted a full day but i still have a very strong urin smell.i have taking baking soda for hart burn almost every nite for the past 6 months
have pressure to pee when i stand up and steam is very light

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted burning urination with poor urine flow that you have is mostly due to UTI secondary to enlarged Prostate which is common at this age .
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have other obstructive voiding symptoms like frequency ,urgency,nocturia etc ?
2) Are you diabetic ?
Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic
tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like
Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.
Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

No I am not a diabetic but I'm not sure I understand the first question I do have frequency to urinate but by bowel movements meaning my stool movements are still blurry normal very normal
