Question : I have skin darkened around my scrotum due to the fungal attack before three years. now there is no fungal issue but still the skin is darkened and it looks very ugly. I need to have a medical fitness test for my job now. I am scared whether i will be rejected because of the above problem. Also i feel very embarassed with this problem. Please clear my two queries.
1. Am I medically unfit for the job?
2. How to bring back the skin to its original color?

Brief Answer:
use a mild topical steroid + topicall antifungal cream combination

Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.
First of all your problem (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation after resolved fungal infection) is not a basis for rejection during fitness test. So you need not gear about being unfit due to this.
You may use a mild topical steroid+topical antifungal cream combination e.g clotrin-b cream Or eumosone-m cream, twice daily on affected area for 2 weeks. This would help reduce pigmentation.
