Suggest Remedies For Fever And Diarrhea In An Infant

Greetings of the day!!!
My son seven months old infant having diarrhoea fever since one week. We have consulted paediatrician on 3. 4. 2017. and he prescribed taxim 50mg BD, Z&D BD, paracetamol TD for 5 days. today is completing antibiotics course. Now frequency of diarrhoea is reduced and fever also completely stopped.
Colour of the stool is greenish with like we'll soaked paper consistency when it becomes dry.
my queries is why greenish stool he is passing ?
consistency when dried stool like paper.?
if swallowed paper??
what will happen if he had taken paper??
kindly guide us for the above problem.
It could be normal or could be due to an infection.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that for a baby of this age, it is normal to pass stool several times a day or even after each feed. Alternatively the child may pass stool once in 10 days and that is normal too. It is also normal to pass green stool or a combination of yellow stool. The green colour occurs due to rapid transit through large intestine where the bile pigments do not get adequate time to convert to the yellow colour of stool. It is OK for some mucus to be there in the stool. You need not bother about the consistency. No need to wonder if he has ingested paper.
If you have got a stool test done, please upload the report. As of now continue the medicines as directed.
Feel free to write back.
