Posted on Mon, 29 Aug 2016
Question: Hello, I scalded my finger with hot water earlier today. It is somewhat painful. Can you tell me if it looks like any kind of burn if I send you a picture?

First finger on the left, in the middle where the finger bends, is where I was scalded with hot water.

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on the image you uploaded it doesn't appear to be a serious burn. One can advise topical silver sulfadiazine for the time being after cleaning the area with povidone and normal saline.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks

So are you saying it IS a burn? If so, which degree? New picture attached. With finger bent, First finger, to the left of photo. Please advise if it requires immediate medical attention. I don't see blisters or much redness, but still feel burning sensation. Could it just be very superficial, not really e en a first degree burn?
