Question : Hi,
From last few weeks, I have become quite prone to sprains specially in neck and shoulder region. As soon as I stretch my hand to reach out to something, I have got sprain 3-4 times in last few weeks.....It subsides after 4-5 days with ointments and sometimes I have to take pain killer, however soon again I get another one....Is there any preventive thing I can do? Some exercises etc, I have not consulted any doctor yet assuming these to be normal sprain only re-occurrences is making it miserable..

Brief Answer:
spondylosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

You should immediately get an Xray of the cervical vertebrae. These cannot be simple sprains. There is definitely a compounding factors could be degenerative disc disease, vitamin D or Calcium deficiency, osteophytes at the joints or spondylosis.

You should reach to spine surgeon/orthopedic surgeon for evaluation. You need supportive physiotherapy by professional for few weeks.

Please do not neglect as women are more prone for such injuries often.
