Question : I have a fungal infection in my ear. Nothing is getting rid of it. The pain is bad. Have had this at least 5 months.
Dr cultured the ear. He vacuums it out every other week. I put eye drops in it. Not helping.

Thanks for posting query on HCM.
Read your history and understood your concern.
Having chronic fungal infection in ear is a tough job to treat.
Due to this infection there is usually super added bacterial infection as well due to itching and irritation produced by fungus.
Putting eye drops is alright but to treat fungal infection you might require to put some anti-fungal drops like Candid drops.
You might require to scrap fungus from external ear canal and white lining of fungus on ear drum as well.
Important is to keep ear canal dry as moisture aggravates spread of fungal infection.
So give more attention to keep ear canal dry particularly after taking shower clean and dry ear canal with cotton buds.
This will help clearing fungus from ear.
Consult ENT specialist and discuss about all these points.
