doctor

Brief Answer:
High fever.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

I am sorry your son is sick. 104 is a very high fever and most pediatrician and family practice doctors want to be informed if a child has a fever over 103. So the first thing I recommend is that you call his doctor.

If he has a sore throat, bad headache, stiff neck, or a cough, you should take him in to the urgent care of emergency room now. He can be examined and tested for strep throat, flu, or pneumonia there.

Give him Tylenol every 4 hours, and make sure he is drinking a lot. If he is not urinating as often as usual, he is getting dehydrated and needs more fluid.

Please let me know how else I might help.
