Sometimes it doesn't get digested properly and I can feel the same if I wake up in night.
Also having frequent heart burns.
Suggestive of acid reflux disease.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi & Welcome.
Thanks for posting your query on Healthcare Magic.
From the history given you seem to be having problem due to reflux of the stomach acid into the oesophagus ('food pipe') referred to as Gastro esophageal reflux disease in which food with acid in the stomach food is regurgitated back into the food pipe after 2-4 hours of having meals.
Had I been your treating physician I would have advised you a combination of proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole with Domperidone tablet once daily one hour breakfast for at least 2 weeks. You also need to have certain lifestyle modifications such as:
1. Avoid alcohol & smoking (if you consume/smoke).
2. Avoid oily, spicy foods, carbonated soft drinks, stress, and coffee. Eat home cooked foods, increase the intake of fruits and vegetables.
3. Try to reduce your body weight if you are overweight by doing regular exercise.
4. Don't sleep immediately after having foods (especially the dinner). Sleep 2-3 hours following the meals.
If the swallowing problems still persists consult your surgeon and get an X ray(Barium meal) for further evaluation.
Hope the suggestions given above would be beneficial to you.
If you have any follow up query, please do ask.
Best regards.
