Question : Hello doctor,
I am a pcos patient and am not able to conceive..we got married in 2012..trying since 2012 but fail.then i had undergone IUI Last year but it was a miscarriage at around 6 weeks.then again last month did IUI on 17 july 2016,doctor prescribed me to take hcg 5000 injection post iui on 24 july,and i took it and doc said to do bhcg test on 1 august.. I did my bhcg test today and the result was 14.48 at 4 or 5 weeks of lmp.my lmp was 29 XXXXXXX 2016.please suggest me is this result false positive due to injection..if no then why this level is so down.

Hi,

I understand your concerns about possibility of pregnancy.

Beta hCG shows positive for pregnancy. It could also be due to Inj. hCG which could have given false positive result. Therfore I suggest repeat Serum beta hCG blood test after a week.

If it's positive, it could confirm pregnancy.
