Question: Hi .. There is an attached image of an erupting teeth .. Can you please let me know what exactly it is and how i can go about it ?

As per your query and the image attached the gum flap at the back most right side is appearing slightly swollen and infected and is the area of the gum surrounding the wisdom tooth..
The inflammation occurs due to infection in the area caused due to accumulation of food debris between the gum flap and the tooth..
I would suggest you to keep the area clean and do not let food accumulate in that area..
Discomfort in ear is due to radiating pain from the gum flap only..
Start doing warm saline gargles..
You can also do antiseptic mouthwash gargles..
Take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen if needed..
Follow for a week..

In case if there is still no improvement or the condition occurs again you need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and advise antibiotics..

As per your query keeping the area clean and doing warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles generally help in relieving the condition..

But if the infection does not subside then a curse of antibiotics can be advised..

If still it recurs then removal of the gum flap by a minor surgical procedure or removal of tooth is to be planned for permanent resolution..

Yes, it is a swollen gum that is apparent but is commonly due impacted wisdom tooth that has occurred due to my infection occurring between gum flap and the wisdom tooth..
So in case if you want to get it checked that whether wisdom tooth is impacted or not , you can get an x ray done..
