Question: I am 49 years old. I have been bleeding for 17 days...I had my period for 7 days then spotted and started a period again. Doctor prescribed Trapic MF had 3 tablets a day for 3 days which has not stopped it. Now she has given Meprate for 10 days twice a day and says period will come again when I stop. I am anaemic and very low on iron. Please advise if this medication is ok and what tests I need to do. My last US in Februaty was all clear. Thanks Anjalie.

Brief Answer:
continue meprate

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
Both the medications are fine and have been serially used. If the bleeding doesn't stop with meprate immediately then you shall require to get a per speculum exam and an ultrasound pelvis with serum progesterone levels to look for the cause. If required a D&C may also be done and endometrium shall be sent for histopathology to rule out any endometrial hyperplasia or out of phase endometrium.
