Posted on Fri, 26 Aug 2016
Question: I have missed my 2nd period while taking Minastrin. I am 30 years old, have been obese since my early 20's, and not sexually active. What are the first five things that come to mind that could be causing these symptoms? Many thanks.

Brief Answer:
Hormonal disturbances likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to :
1. Hypothyroidism
2. Hyperprolactemia
3. Polycystic ovarian disease
4. Cushing syndrome
5. Irregular intake of Minastrin
6. Obesity causing hormonal disturbances
7. Stress.
All these causes can lead to delayed and irregular periods in a non sexually active person.
I will suggest you to get your hormonal profile and ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis and get appropriate treatment timely.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
