Question : What can I do (or take) to help rid of a head fungal infection myself? I can't get into the doc. till Friday and it is itching and burning real bad.

If you have dandruff and itching, or oily scalp, you can try Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo. Nizoral is an anti fungal that also helps for dandruff and seborrhea dermatitis of the scalp. It may take a few washings for it to help well.
