Brief Answer:
I would suggest you to get X-ray

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and most probably you have knee ligament injury. Hyperextension of the knee can cause ACL tear which is a ligament in knee for fine balancing. It is good that you are able to walk. I have following suggestions for you.
1.Ice application.
2.Tablet Etoricoxib 90 mg one OD.
3.Appply compression bandage around knee and keep it elevated over a pillow.
4.Get x ray of the knee joint to make sure there is no bony injury. At 51 years of age there is high chances due to weak bones.
5.Do not massage or rub any thing on knee joint.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
