Question : I grew up in South Florida and spent years of days in the sun and used tanning beds. Now at 48...I'm finding sores on my legs that are large and won't heal. Sometimes some might heal...but leave red. scars on my legs. This year I won't even wear shorts because I'm so self conscious about how bad my legs look. Could this be skin cancer?

Hello dear. Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the details. Sun exposure to ultraviolet rays is a predisposing factor for some of the skin related cancers. Non healing ulcers can be harbouring foci of cancers thar is a kniwn phenomenon. However skin cancers may be de novo that is,

unrelated to sun exposure.
