Question : I have a migraine headache, I took 400 mg of Ibuprofen 2 hours ago and it didn't help. How long do I have to wait to take Excederin? Which usually works well. I usually take Exederin

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Excedrin contains aspirin which has a similar mechanism of action to Ibuprofen. So before taking Excedrin it would be best to wait for at least 4 hours, so a couple more hours.

As for which one works well, they both are effective for headaches, in some patients one is more effective than the other depending on patient characteristics. If a true migraine headache though the most effective medication, especially if some time has passed since the onset of the attack would be the triptan class of medications (sumatriptan, zolmitriptan etc).
