Question: Hello Doctors. I have this problem of Nasal allergy / Stuffy Nose / Too much mucus cough formation since 2011 when I first moved to XXXXXXX I consulted Doctors there and was prescribed MONTAIR LC and some other tabs. It used to give some relief but no permanent cure. When I moved back to North XXXXXXX in 2013 I didn't face much symptoms of Nasal allergy. Last year I Moved back to XXXXXXX and I am facing similar symptoms again and it's very bad. After waking up in morning, My nose is dry and stuffy. It seems swelling if nasal passage. Sometimes I sneeze a lot continuously. Watery eyes is also one symptom. Now thes days, I am taking Alerid D and MONTAIR LC on a SoS basis. But it's not helping much. Whenever I go for morNing walk my nasal passage feel clean and they open up very Nicely. In office also, I have less issues of allergy. I try to place a anti pollution mask cloth on my nose when I go out. But is there a permanent solution for this Nasal allergy / stuffy nose / dryness / watery eyes. Please advise. Is this query better suited for a allergist / Immunologist OR ENT specialist.please forward accordingly.

Allergic rhinitis

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
As the symptoms are completely on exposure to dust or certain environment, they are due to allergy or over sensitivity.
My advice is you should take montair LC once daily for at least a month. It would be better if you start this a week prior to moving to XXXXXXX This will help to decrease the response.
Secondly, once you start having symptoms take a combination of levocetrizine plus pseudoephedrine twice daily for a week and fluticasone nasal spray twice daily for a week. The nasal spray must be tapered off with once daily for another 1 week.
Try to wear a mask.
Your symptoms are probably due to dryness. Drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated.
Any further questions are always welcome.
All the medicine prescribed by me will be available only on prescription.
Take care
Thanks and regards
