Question : My son is 27 days old....he generally takes out milk from nose even after 1 hour breast fed. he never did this from mouth.
Brief Answer:
Burping should be done
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Can understand your concerns.
Vomiting from nose or mouth can occur in babies when burping is not done.
There are some things which you should keep in mind while feeding.
- feed in inclined position of 30 to 40 degree.
- do burping after feeding for at least 10 minutes.
- after feeding and during sleep keep a thin pillow below head so that regurgitation don't occur.
If weight gain is ok then nothing needs to be done about this.
If there is a problem in weight gain then tracheoesophageal fistula needs to be ruled out. For this barium meal studies are done.
I hope this will help you.
Wishing your child good health.
Take care.
