Question: I had stepped on a glass bottle on 24th march. It was on a beach in deep water. There was profuse bleeding for a long time but it clotted after few minutes. I had few antibiotics plus pain killer tablets and had covered the cut with band aid all the time. Although the pain has reduced to a lot extent now but still I have problem in walking. The skin has regenerated completely but the pain persists. I had not taken the anti-tetanus injection.

Brief Answer:
Tendon injury, 12 weeks to heal

Detailed Answer:
Hello, greetings!
Thanks for posting your query on hcm.
It has been a month since your injury and if you are still having difficulty, most probably you have suffered a deep soft tissue injury / tendon injury. This soft tissue injury can be diagnosed by an ultrasound under guidance of an experienced orthopedic surgeon.
Tendon injuries take typically around 12 weeks to heal.
You must give adequate rest to your foot, avoid any strenuous activities, you may go for hot water fomentation. For the pain, take an anti inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen.

If you have any further doubts/ clarifications, you may get back to me.

Brief Answer:
Continue brufen for a week

Detailed Answer:
Hello, greetings!
You do not have to take the anti tetanus injection now. It is effective only upto 72 hours.
You may continue with ibuprofen for a week.
After that apply a topical pain killer gel like DICLOFENAC gel thrice a day. Go for hot water fomentation twice a day. It should resolve soon.
