Question: My son is 24 years old. He was on foot and hit by a car at age 15, sustaining a fractured left femur which necessitated insertion of titanium rod. He complains of pain in left leg when standing and walking for long periods and in cold weather. HE also has a history of narcotic addiction so surgical removal of rod is not feasible. what could he do to ease the pain? Any advice from GP, or orthopedists? It is limiting types of jobs he could get!
