Suggest Remedies For Pain In Right Testicle

Posted on Mon, 25 Jul 2016
Question: Hi Doc,
I am 44 years old. I have a slightly painful right testicle: to touch and a general slight ache. And for 7 days I've had a single very thin 0.5-1cm long blood clot expelled 1 second into peeing. I had quite vigorous sex 8 days ago: the day after which I awoke to find crusted blood on the tip of my penis. this was the only time obvious blood appeared except for in my urine stream. I have no fever or other symptoms. I am generally very healthy. I had unprotected oral sex (received a couple of times 3-4 weeks ago. So I'm assuming I have epididimytis. I'm attending a conference in New Zealand and cannot easily see a doctor for the next 10 days.
Thanks in advance,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
blood and clots in urine, unlikely to be due to epididymitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.

You should be aware, that blood or clots,in the urine is abnormal.
It's unlikely that epididymitis is the cause for this.
As you're not able to see an Urologist at present,do the following essential tests:
1. urine routine and culture.
2. blood routine,creatinine,RBS,LFT,platelets,VDRL,HbsAg and HIV.
3. ultrasound -KUB.

After doing these tests, start Ciprofloxacin twice daily, for a week.
Drink about 12 glasses fluids daily.
Avoid sex with multiple partners.
