Brief Answer:
A clot seems unlikely to me, as it could have caused implications by now

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Well, quite honestly it is not possible to rule out a clot without a thorough examination and investigations, but based on the description it does seem less likely to me.

To me it seems like one of the below listed causes could most probably be the culprit in your case sir:

+Muscle weakness in thighs or buttocks (age-related)
+Flat feet or foot
+Running on a slanted surface
+Running with bad or inappropriate footwear
+Running downhill
+Improper training or exercise techniques
+Poor flexibility or stretching
+Poor physical activity
+Bone related abnormalities
and a few others.

But it would be best for you to visit your doctor as the pain has persisted for almost 5 years now, so it should be elaborately evaluated in order to find the cause more accurately and help rid you of it. I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
