Question : I think my hemarrhoids caused me to almost pass out 2 times. I have pain in my anus and I have diarhea. I just started lexapro and that is the only medication I am on. What should I do
This has happened 2 times. I get a strong pain in my anus and it gets worse. I feel like I am going to puke and pass out and it eventually goes away but it was worse last night. I took a bath and that helped.

Brief Answer:
warm sitz bath, oral and topical pain killer , muscle relaxant

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hemorrhoids normally associated with bleeding along with the pain. The severe pain is likely related to the hemorrhoids themselves and also spasm or contraction of the muscles in the anal region.

The bath would help because the water would help to relieve the spasm. This can be improved by sitz baths, this means sitting for 15 to 20 mins in warm water which can contain table salt or epsom salts.

An anti inflammatory pain killer such as cataflam, naproxen, ibuprofen , can also be used.

A topical pain killer such as lidocaine gel , may also be helpful.

If there is no improvement, then a muscle relaxant, prescribed by your doctor, may be needed.

Probiotics, on their own (not in yogurt because of sugar), may help reduce the diarrhea.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
