Suggest Remedies For Patellar Tendinitis

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: I have been diagnosed with jumper's knee (patellar tendonosis with partial thickness tears). I have been doing physical therapy for a few months, and underwent a PRP(platelet rich plasma) injection three weeks ago. Overall, I feel my injury is progressing.
However, today while walking out of the shower and slipped and fell on my back. My quads, knees, and overall lower body did not hit the ground as I was able to break the fall with my back and hands. Although I do not feel any pain or noticeable swelling from the fall on my knees, I did feel some pressure on the tendon when I fell. Is this something which could have possibly further degraded the tears on the tendon?

Brief Answer:
No, this doesn't cause much impact

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Thanks for asking a question

I'm Dr Chaithanya attending you

The description of fall you have given is detailed enough

I don't think the tendon tears might have aggravated or there is major impact on them due to fall, as the stress is not taken by knees. It is mostly passed on to your hands and back.

So, don't worry! If you are Overweight, decrease your weight, this will cause a great difference.

Hope this helps
