Hello XXXX,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I would like some more information about your cough. Is there any sputum? If so what is the color? Do you have any wheezing? Is there any burning in the chest? Do you have any fever? Have you ever been exposed to Tuberculosis.
Are you an anxious type of person?
Have you had any blood test or Xray done? If so please upload the results.
Do let me have your input so that I may be able to help you get over this problem.

Sputum clear. No wheezing.no burning in chest, have not been expose to Tuberculosis but haven't been test either. I have had blood test but for thyroid only, had x-ray on my neck said everything is good, I don't have the results .
I do get anxious person all my adult life, but my cough has been recent and non stop. I can get the results but it would have to be this week.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feed back.
I will interpret the results for you when I have them.
In the meanwhile we can consider the following.
The non infectious causes we have to consider are 1. GERD - Here the acid re fluxed from the stomach irritates the throat and produces a cough which can be persistent 2. Asthma - It may manifest as cough alone without much wheezing and 3 'Nervous cough'. This is related to anxiety and stress.
Relax, eat non spicy, non acidic wholesome food devoid of caffeinated or aerated drinks and alcohol, avoid smoking, exercise at least 30 minutes a day, practice relaxation techniques like Yoga. Go to bed on an empty stomach and elevate the head end of your bed by 6 inches. You may also try a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole twice a day.
Do let me know if you are on any medicines.
Do get back with your response
