Suggest Remedies For Persistent Cough And Cold

Question: I have had a cough and cold for 7 weeks and it feels like I have a wet washcloth in my lungs. I cough until I throw up but don't have any discharge from my lungs. I was on a Z-pac but my doc won't give me any other Med. She wants to refer me to an allergist. I really think it's bronchitis or pneumonia. Of course she didn't do blood work or a chest X-ray and now I am not able to go in until March because of my health insurance. How do I get rid of this?

Yes, we should definitely rule out bronchitis and pneumonia in your case.
You are having chronic cough, wet lungs, not improving with routine drugs, so possibility of bronchitis or pneumonia is more.
So you should definitely get done chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT is needed to rule rule out bronchitis.
