Question: Hi, I have been having ear ache over last month, the feeling is a compressed feeling and is just starting to hear gurgling sounds, it seems to be worse tonight, I'm thinking wax build up. I'm 55 year old female. Possibly I have been sharing my stethoscope at work. I can not get into Gp until Tuesday. What's your thoughts

Brief Answer:
Most likely wax build up!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this earache that you have reported. I have reviewed your information and of similar thought that this is wax build up. It is unlikely to be an infection because the pain is not severe and the longstanding nature. Having exchanged your stethoscope at work is unlikely to be responsible for this as it is probably not an infection. There is no danger in waiting up to next Tuesday to get the ears examined unless there is severe pain that needs to be addressed urgently for which you can take Tylenol/Ibuprofen.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
