Hi.
Thank for your query.
To recapitulate:Female/40 - lost 40 lbs since Dec - pain above belly button in mid line - where you had gall bladder out - sometimes tender - sometimes pain like punching - sometimes pains when you are breathing ...
The most probable reason I can think about is hernia either supra-umbilical or incisional due to a port through which instruments were put in.
Please give a few more points for me to assist you further:
- Since when have you got this pain?
- Is there a small or large bulge at the place of pain that increases on coughing or straining an reduces on lying down or on pressure?
- is the appetite normal?
- Any problem with sleep, bowel or bladder habits?
- Any other medical problems that you have?
- Please give any other history/information that you may feel relevant or irrelevant. Also if possible post the photographs of the area of pain on bulging/reducing o otherwise.
For the weight loss I need further information and post any tests if you already done them.
Awaiting for your feedback.
Investigations ASAP, clinical evaluation, multidisciplinary approach.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your feedback.
Lap Choley 10 years ago - *double pneumonia in Dec > started loosing weight - 40 lbs almost 5 months - recently started coughing and sometimes shortness of breath - even on just sitting - known diabetic- high BP - acid reflux - hypothyroidism - cramps in legs - stomach hurting all the time and at times get nausea and diarrhea.
The combination of the pneumonia, weight loss, coughing and breathlessness even at rest indicate a though clinical evaluation and appropriate investigations like:
- CT scan of the chest to see what exactly is the problem that the symptoms have continued on.
- Pulmonary function tests
- Review blood tests like CBC, serum proteins, thyroid function tests, HbA1c and gucose, cardiac evaluation by a Cardiologist to see for cardiac functioning and review of the treatment, Upper GI Endoscopy if the Gastroenterologist allows and as per the findings of the clinical examination.
- Ultrasonography of the abdomen to start with and CT scan if required/indicated.
- tests of stool for 3 consecutive days and tests of urine.
These will give a collective picture and clear the complexity of the varied symptoms to give the probable diagnosis which will guide for the proper multi-disciplinary approach for proper management.
I hope this answer helps you to get an early diagnosis and proper treatment.
