Suggest Remedies For Persistent Tinnitus

Question: Good morning to everyone,
I am a 17 year-old female currently dealing with tinnitus. This had randomly occured in my right ear as a pulsating sound, which would intensify in volume or vice versa. Along with that, my left ear has also been troubling me as it has been feeling numb/dull inside the ear with unexpected frequency pitches. The frequency sound would last for 2-3 seconds then fade away whilst worsening the feeling of my left ear. When I had applied pressure with my fingers on the right side pulse on my neck the pulsating sound in my right ear would stop, or quiet right down where I could barely hear it. When I placed the right side of my head to the right side of my shoulder, whilst pushing my shoulder into the right side of my face applying pressure would also stop the pulsating sound. I brought the tinnitus up to my doctor, and had both left and right ears checked various times, as well as having multiple hearing tests and being sent to an ear specialist with the same results, showing that everything was fine with my ears. I have been & still am waiting for my ENT appointment as it is a long wait, but am worried that this may be leading to myself becoming deaf, or the possibilty of a brain tumor. Please help me out here, thankyou

Brief Answer:
Tinnitus

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query.
At your age, the most common cause for tinnitus is wax or eustachian tube blockage. As you said that you have got the ears examined, it is probably not wax. It is better to rule out common possible causes rather than thinking about rare causes like a tumour.
Please tell me do you have any history of frequent nasal or throat infection?
Any history of loud noise exposure or trauma to the ear?
Send me your audiometry report.
Any Ct or mRi done?
Follow up with the required information so that I can suggest you better.
Take care
Thanks and regards

I only say brain tumor because my brain always hurts with sharp pains in specific spots. I was never given any reports for my ear tests, which will make it harder to find out what is going on. From what I know I do not have any history of nasal or throat infection. I did listen to loud music and I haven't had any scans done. I am still waiting for the ENT appointment I have booked. I am worried this will be long term, it has taken alot from me and really put me down . It never stops, it's constantly going and my left ear feels even worse because it actually feels numb inside the ear and then when the high pitch frequency comes in, it worsens and it feels like I lose alot of that hearing for a couple of seconds. Can birth control contribute to this? Or grinding your teeth?

Brief Answer:
Tinnitus

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the information.
Birth control or grinding won't lead to these symptoms.
My advice is you should get yourself examined by an Ent specialist to rule out the various causes.
Any tumor which can cause tinnitus will cause deranged hearing tests.
Another option to rule out any brain pathology which is unlikely is to get a MRI SCAN or Ct scan done.
Any medical management will depend on the test results.
Avoid any ear phones usage or excessive XXXXXXX use.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Take care
Thanks and regards
